Head of Residential Conveyancing

The Role:
As Head of Residential Conveyancing, you will:

  • Lead and oversee a busy conveyancing team, ensuring efficiency and excellence in client service.
  • Handle a varied and complex caseload, including sales, purchases, re-mortgages, leasehold transactions, and transfers of equity.
  • Provide strategic guidance on case management, risk assessment, and legal best practices.
  • Drive business development and networking efforts, expanding the firm’s client base and service offerings.
  • Mentor and manage a small team of solicitors, associates, and support staff, ensuring continued professional growth and high performance.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, maintaining the firm’s high standards of service.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Qualified Solicitor with significant experience in residential property law and Regulatory Compliance.
  • A proven track record of leading, mentoring, and developing a team.
  • Experience handling complex and high-value property transactions.
  • A commercially focused mindset, with a proactive approach to business development.
  • Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to offer clear and strategic legal advice.
  • Proficiency in case management systems and strong IT literacy

Excellent long term prospects for successful candidate

Salary according to experience circa £50-£55k

Family Law Solicitor or Legal Executive [2-7 Years PQE]

Flexible part (3 days a week) or full-time appointment based either at our Oldham or Todmorden office (but with occasional travel to our other offices).

Some home working is a possibility/negotiable after successful completion of a probationary period.

An excellent opportunity for someone to join a busy/respected team to develop confidence & experience in a broad caseload of family cases (no care or legal aid) with a bias towards private law children work.

The successful candidate will work directly with the Partner in charge of the Family Team, Rhona Royle. We also have an apprentice solicitor in the team.

Essentials

  1. A solid background in private family law work (children/finances/cohabitation)
  2. Excellent client care skills, good time management and organisational skills.
  3. A team player.
  4. An enthusiasm for advocacy.
  5. Willingness to participate in business development opportunities.
  6. Commitment to abide by the Resolution Code of Conduct.

Desirable

  1. The confidence to conduct some initial court appointments.
  2. Applications from those based in/with contacts in the Oldham/Saddleworth/Calder Valley/Manchester areas particularly welcome.
  3. Applications from men welcomed to diversify the team.
  4. Self sufficiency in typing (but secretarial support available).
  5. Commercial awareness of billing and fee collection.

Salary- market rate (based on level of experience) plus performance related bonus plus referral rewards.

Proposed start date early August 2024.
